Entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, expressed his lack of faith in the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) while reacting to the recent judgement. The court upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023 election.

VerseNews reports that On his X (formerly Twitter) page, Charly Boy, a supporter of the Labour Party (LP), conveyed his disappointment in the tribunal’s decision, stating, “I didn’t expect justice. But I have a strong feeling that we’re not truly tired of suffering.”

He also echoed the sentiment that the fate of the common man lies in their own hands, writing, “Like Datti said, ‘the fate of the common man doesn’t lie in the hands of the judiciary but in the hands of the common man himself.

Expressing his disillusionment, Charly Boy remarked, “It seems we’re not yet ready. I didn’t expect anything different from what happened today at the tribunal. Even on judgment day, I observed lawyers sleeping inside the court, and I didn’t see my fellow frustrated Nigerians in the streets.”

In conclusion, he offered a glimmer of hope, saying, “It shall be well. I doubt if we haven’t suffered enough. What a shame.”
